The Officers and Board of INTECOL are delighted to announce
that the 10th International Congress of Ecology will be held in Brisbane,
Australia, 16 - 21 August 2009. The Congress will be hosted by the Ecological
Society of Australia in partnership with the New Zealand Ecological
Society. This is the first time that an International Congress of
Ecology will have been held in the southern Hemisphere.
As well as the excellent conference facilities provided by the Brisbane
Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland provides outstanding
possibilities for congress excursions including the Great Barrier Reef,
Fraser Island, Heron Island, and the Daintree Rainforest.
The Board extends to the team of Dr. Craig James, the Vice President of INTECOL,
Chair of the Organising Committee and former President of the Ecological
Society of Australia, all their best
wishes for the detailed planning which lies ahead.
Craig and his crew were present at the Montreal Congress with the 90th
Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of America (ESA),
where the Brisbane Congress was announced and advertised. We hope that
many members and supporters of INTECOL will have the opportunity to communicate
with him by e-mail at [email protected] or
phone at +61-8-8950-7157 (office), +61-8-8950-7187 (fax) or +61-408-838-194
(Mobile).
